Do I keep my car?
Yes. Nothing happens to the car at any point. Refinancing changes the loan behind the car, not the car. You keep driving it through the entire process, and there's no inspection, handover or interruption.

The only change is invisible paperwork: car loans in NZ are secured against the vehicle, so at settlement the old lender's security registration on the PPSR is released and the new lender's is registered. The lenders handle that between themselves. Your keys never enter the conversation.
