Does refinancing itself affect my credit file?
A settled refinance shows on your file as one loan closing and another opening, plus the lender's application enquiry. That's a normal, readable pattern. Closing a loan by repaying it in full is positive history, not a black mark.

From there, the new loan builds history the same way the old one did: every on-time repayment is positive data under comprehensive credit reporting.
