What if I'm on a benefit, self-employed, or on a work visa?
None of these rule you out. Different lenders have different appetites, and part of what a panel is for is matching your situation to a lender that genuinely works with it, rather than you guessing which one that is.

Self-employed applicants usually show income through bank statements or financials instead of payslips. Work visa holders can be considered by several lenders, often with attention to the time remaining on the visa versus the loan term. Some lenders will consider applicants whose income includes a benefit, generally alongside other income.
In every case it comes down to the lender's assessment of your actual situation. We have dedicated guides for self-employed borrowers, work visa holders, and borrowers receiving a benefit.
