Comprehensive credit reporting
The NZ credit reporting system that records positive history (accounts held and repayments made on time), not just defaults and missed payments.

Credit files used to be purely negative: they only showed when something went wrong. Comprehensive credit reporting (CCR) added the other side: the accounts you hold, your credit limits, and month-by-month repayment history. Paying your car loan on time now actively builds your file rather than merely avoiding damage.
For refinancing this cuts in your favour. Every month of clean repayments on your current loan is positive data a new lender can see. Borrowers who took a loan with a thin or bruised file, then paid it faithfully for a year or two, often look meaningfully stronger on paper than when they signed, which is precisely when a re-check makes sense.

Two minutes, one soft check to start, no obligation. Your file goes to a panel of NZ lenders and the strongest offer comes back.
